Titleist Scotty Cameron Putters
55I purchased titleist scotty cameron putters after seeing
a number of tour pro's switch with some success. I looked at all of the
reviews on the net and had a look at scottycameron.com and everything
pointed to the fact that this was the putter for me.
The titleist scotty cameron putters arrived and I headed straight out onto the course to try
it out. At first I was a little disappointed with results, I couldn't
seem to get the putts rolling straight. I put this down to first time
usage and convinced myself that I would improve as I got used to it. I
didn't. Six rounds later the putter was on eBay.
I can't quite put my finger on what wasn't quite right but I think
it was something to do with the fact that the Futura doesn't
automatically set up straight. It seems to naturally set up pointing
left of the hole (I'm a right-hander). I tried to iron this problem out
by deliberatly trying keep it straight through impact but I couldn't
seem to get the hang of it.
The putter also seemed a little suspect on longer putts, most short
putts seemed a gimme but the longer ones were very problematic.
All in all a reasonable putter but there are better ones out there
for my game. Give it a try - hopefully you'll have more success than I
did.
I've recently switched to a Scotty Cameron Studio Stainless Newport
2 and cannot talk highly enough of this putter - I'll be posting a
review shortly.
Scotty Cameron Putters Unconventional
This Titleist Scotty Cameron Putters are unconventional I agree but the
alignment and setup are not. I have found the putter to be very
comfortable in my hands, but must admit I like more weight in the head
to give me more feel. I have found through experimentation that
adhereing 10 nikels ( five, placed from the bottom side, in each of the
first two of the three openings)gives this putter wonderful feel. Scott
Cameron is probably steaming right now, but it is NOW the best putter I
have ever owned. It is worth all $200, no, make that $200.50 that I
have ever invested.
Many have no problem spending $300, $400 even $450 on a driver
they use 14 times a round. Find a good putter which you will use 33
times a round and help your score. Maybe not the Futura but find one it
will pay big dividends.
