Titleist Scotty Cameron Putter

In short the best. I have played the game for four decades now and have had only four previous putters, all blade types. Since I played once a week, pre-Futura, and believed in that old adage that if you play once a week your GHIN gains a stroke a year, twice a week it stays the same and it only improves when you play three or more times weekly I accepted my fate. Of course I was living testament, since moving to Oregon from California nine years ago I have seen my GHIN increase about one stroke per year. And yes I play all 52 weeks in rain, wind, and endure frost delays, the works, always with the exception being the time we got snowed out.

Earlier this year when my GHIN hit 22 I decided to upgrade through technology to counter the slide. As of next week I will have completely overhauled every piece of equipment in my bag. The putter and driver were the first changes. I have played the Futura since mid September along with a new Adams Redline Driver (another review). Now with the current GHIN revision my GHIN sits at 15.5 and is still going down (caveat: even though technology mitigates that old adage) I found myself enjoying the game so much I am playing more. Enough said.

The titleist scotty cameron putter is very user friendly, feels solid, balanced, provide full confidence and almost seems to correct the line on miss-hit putts. I was always a great putter but this one is unreal. My feel for speed is dial in anywhere. I played Cinnabar Hills in California two weeks ago and didn’t miss a beat on green differential. I am almost automatic within 6 feet. Longer putts are just missing by inches in line but not speed. I don’t know if I will ever three putt again. The obsession continues as I purchased last week a weighted custom engraved insert with a 1/8” sight line in order to improve my abilities on longer putts. My rationale for adding weight is that the winter rains will slow the greens down and the Futura was made for the Pro tour’s faster surfaces.

The adjustment to a mallet style has not been a problem I did carry my old putter for about 6 rounds as a security blanket. It’s gone now. Nice novelty item. Every buddy in the club has to try it. Even strangers ask me if they can try it. It is a putter that you can use from the get go to improve your scoring! That for me is what it is all about. EXCEPTIONAL VALUE-Since I have carried my putters for an average of 10 years I look at it as if the Futura is costing me less than $30 a year and it has already paid for itself this year.

Mallet Putters 2 years ago

Titleist Scotty Cameron Putters have excellent weight distribution from heel to toe which produces great balance and wards off twisting on poorly struck balls.

Thanks for the info
